Small Business Commissioner: Process for Handling Complaints
The government has published the planned process and draft regulations for the Small Business Commissioner to handle complaints. The Commissioner will be appointed later this year and a key element of their role will be to resolve small business complaints about payment related issues with larger businesses. The regulations aim to be simple so that the Small Business Commissioner processes are as efficient as possible, and available to as many small businesses as possible. The Small Business Commissioner will also play a role in drawing attention to the poor payment practices of serial offenders by having the power to publicly name and shame them.
